Governance in Practice: Effective Board Meetings

Governance in Practice: Effective Board Meetings

If you’ve listened to all the episodes thus far, you should have a good understanding of what governance is and what the board is meant to do. In this episode, I start to get more practical. That is, how does the board fulfill its strategic and conformance functions. I focus this episode around board meetings as that is, predominantly, where the board makes its decisions. But effective board meetings are not just about what happens from when the meeting is opened and when the meeting ends. Important work is done both before and after any board meeting. If you’re an experienced director or new to governance, this episode should leave you with something new to help improve your board.
